A friend is going to Bangkok and will be visiting the famous Chatuchak Weekend Market. I’ve been to the market only once and spending the entire day shopping there was not enough for me. So when my friend so kindly asked if I wanted to buy anything from the Chatuchak market, my eyes lit up! “Yes, I have plenty to buy!!” was the answer screaming in my head. Then, the image of her lugging a huge bag of my stuff all the way from Bangkok back here entered my mind and I felt guilty!
The thing is, there’s so much to buy there. It is often said that if you can’t find a product in Chatuchak market, you can never find it anywhere else. Of course that is exagerating it a bit, you can find almost anything in China these days. But Bangkok is a lot closer to home and I find the people friendlier when you start haggling for better deals.
Anyway, back to what to buy from Chatuchak, it’s really hard to give a friend a shopping list because I could potentially list a whole lot of things that she won’t be able to carry back. From clothes to pet supplies to home decorations and baby products, I want it all!
Maybe it’s time to start thinking about making a trip there to shop for myself. But this can’t happen anytime soon because travelling these days have become a little harder with my little one in tow. Not bringing him along seems the solution, but I am one of those mothers who suffer from separation anxieties. Decisions, decisions, decisions!
Perhaps, I should just put a couple of teaser items on the shopping list for my friend to bring back for me…is that a wicked plan or what?

Hi Jys, my friend is already back from the trip…but thanks for the info. I’ll be headed there myself in the next couple of weeks, so this sharing is very timely. I’ll definitely be on the look out for her!
