What kind of yoga mat do I choose?

mats perall lg What kind of yoga mat do I choose?
Nowadays, yoga is an extremely popular exercise. I’ve heard raving reviews and recommendations by most people who do yoga. Most find it a very rejuvenating experience, saying that it calms the mind and soul and they feel a great sense of relaxation after a yoga session. It’s hard to imagine that stretching every inch of your body could be relaxing, isn’t it?

I’ve been invited many times to join yoga classes but I’m just plain lazy and never got to saying yes to any of the invitations. However, today I decided to just go for it. All because it’s really convenient since the company is hiring a yoga instructor to hold lessons in the building a couple times a week. The best part is that I get to choose a schedule that works for me without having to take the extra time off from work and home.

Since I’ve made up my mind to take it up, I thought I might as well start looking for yoga gears. I guess the most important to have is the yoga mat. All along, I thought a mat is just a mat, no big deal. But after googling it, I found so many variations in terms of the materials they are made of, rignt down to eco-friendly mats!

I remember some time last year I accompanied a friend to look for a yoga mat. Disinterested at that time, I didn’t ask any questions about the mats. What I remember was seeing different types of mats selling at varied prices. Some are really cheap, costing just about RM20 while others can cost a few times that price. I guess now is the time to find out why and which types are the preferred ones.

Any yoga enthusiasts out there who cares to share a tip or two about the mats and yoga in general?
