I previously posted an article about the great value anytime any day at Wendy’s fastfood outlets, with a set meal consisting of a burger or fried chicken with nuggets and a drink at RM6.99. Over the weekend, out of curiosity since we’ve never tried Wendy’s food before, I suggested to give it a try.
Much to our disappointment, the experience wasn’t any good. Firstly, we made an order for one out of the four meal sets available, which consisted of a piece of fried chicken with nuggets on the side and a soft drink. We asked for the chicken nuggets to be switched to fries and were given the not-so-happy face by the girl serving us behind the counter.
Then, when we saw how small that piece of fried drumstick was, we decided to change the order to some other set meal of the same price. The girl, obviously even more unhappy with more changes, said no. She said we can’t switch because the price is different. We reminded her that all the sets are of the same price, so what really was the problem?
She then just turned away and asked some other staff to come over and said that we wanted to switch from that piece of chicken to a burger instead. It was immediately changed without any need to change anything at the till. It was clearly a case of laziness to just put that chicken back and grab the burger we wanted.
The serving of the fries was also tiny. If I’m not mistaken, it’s actually a kid’s meal size. I can live with the small drink, because although it was the smallest size available, it was not too small a portion for one person.
And how did we find the taste of the food at Wendy’s? Well it wasn’t that great. So with bad service coupled with nothing fanciful in their food, I won’t bother ever going back to Wendy’s for fast food. As it is, their regular prices of food is a lot more expensive than McDonald’s and even KFC. Not quite worth the money, if you ask me.
So no more Wendy’s for me. It’s waaaay better than fast food…NOT!

I don’t quite fancy Wendy’s too… tried it once a few months back and haven’t gone back since.

i had a nice experience of wendy’s— 25 years ago… LOL. but maybe taht was when i was a kid- and restaurants were not trying to save on costs…
