Valentine’s Day gift idea #7 – Chicken Soup For The Couple’s Soul

by Penny on February 8, 2009

If your lovely lady loves to read, I personally think the Chicken Soup (from Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen) series will make a great Valentine’s Day gift book for her. Not just any ordinary Chicken Soup series books, but the more romantic series. There are a few Chicken Soup books that have very heartwarming and romantic stories (I read some of them and till today still love the books).

Even if your valentine is not a book lover, she may just love these books. The Chicken Soup for the soul books make very easy and pleasant reading. Each book is filled with pages of true life stories contributed by real people from all over (no doubt most contributors are from the US). Each short story is only a page or at most 3 to 4 pages long, so these short stories are fast to read.

Some of the Chicken Soup love and romance related books are as follows:

I have read Chicken Soup for the Couple’s Soul and Chicken Soup for the Romantic Soul. I just can’t get enough of the well written love stories. I’m looking forward to read the Chicken Soup for the Soul Love Stories when I find the time. You can click on the links above for each of the books to read more about them, from general information about the books to reviews by readers as well as some snippets from the books.

The Chicken Soup series are widely available in most major bookstores. You can find them in several versions, hardcover, paperback, and even pocket sized books. Prices vary between RM20++ to RM40++ per book, depending on title and the size of the book that you pick. If you are keen on getting one of these books for your beloved, do drop by the bookstore to check them out. If you are superstitious and do not want to buy books during the period of Chinese New Year, you can start buying them on Tuesday onwards as Chap Goh Meh falls on Monday.

By the way, Chap Goh Meh is the Chinese Valentine’s Day. Have you got any plans? Going to toss any mandarin oranges across the river to a special someone? :)
