Used books

by Penny on January 7, 2009

As a student back in university days, I had a part time job as a way to earn pocket money. It wasn’t hard work but it was still a lot of time spent at work instead of being with friends or going out. So I used to spend wisely on things I wanted since it was hard-earned money.

I love to read and though books weren’t expensive in the UK compared to here, I still opted to buy used books as they were half the price or sometimes even more than half the price of a new book. I was also quite surprised that many of these used books were in excellent condition. I suppose most book lovers tend to look after their books well.

That was in the UK. I’m wondering if Malaysians go for used books – good condition books, that is. What do you think? Are you gamed for used books at great bargain prices or would you rather buy them brand new?
