Unexpected buys at Loreal Warehouse sales

by Penny on September 27, 2008

Yesterday Loreal had a one day only warehouse sale at Wisma MCA in KL town. I wasn’t planning to go because from the flyers that were given out, I saw mostly cosmetic brands only and since I don’t use make-up, what could I possible buy, right?

But since my colleague wanted to go, I tagged along anyway just to join the crowd. We went over during lunch time and surprisingly the crowd wasn’t too large. It was a big auditorium where the sales were held and the entire room was filled with tables lined with products.

I was pleasantly surprised that they were not only selling make-up stuff, but also the Elseve range of haircare, Garnier and Loreal skincare products. I made a few calls and ended up buying some goodies on behalf of other people who couldn’t make it over. They were going very cheap and though most of the stuff weren’t mine, I still felt some thrill of shopping at a warehouse sale!

These are some of the goodies I picked up.

From left to right:

1) Garnier Skin Naturals

This box of goody from Garnier is supposedly a 24 hour whitening action program that fights ingrained spots and dullness. It comes with 2 tubes of products of 30ml each, one for day use and the other for night. The moisturising cream that also has sun protection up to SPF 15 is meant for day use whilst the regenerating whitening cream is for night usage. This combined formula contains anti-dark spots long dan and pure lemon essence. It also contains vitamin C to help lift dullness of the complexion and boosts radiance. I have no idea how much this product retails in the market, but I paid RM10 for it at the warehouse sales.

2) Loreal Men Expert facial wash

This is Loreal’s skincare range for the men and there are a few variations, ranging from anti-tightness to refreshing features of the facial wash. I’ve never tried this so no comments on this. It was going for RM10 at the sales. Not sure how much this costs at normal retail price too.

3) Loreal Esleve Shampoo

I’ve used this range before and I quite like their product. The shampoo was selling for RM8 and it was definitely a good buy.

4) Loreal Deep Whitening Eye Protection

This retails for RM27.90 (I only know this because the original price tag was still on the box)! and was selling for RM15 at the sale. Almost half the price, so it is a rather worthy buy.

5) Loreal UV Perfect (XL Block)

I used to love this sunscreen until they kept improvising it to what it is today and I started to dislike the texture. I’ve since switched to try others and have been happy. I bought this on behalf of someone who found it to be good. It was selling at RM20.

So all in all, the sales weren’t too bad and there was surely something for everybody. Did you grab anything there?

Some warehouse sales really aren’t worth it, selling products as old as antiques…but most of them these days are quite alright. But the crowds can be crazy most of the time. Anyway, I’m glad for the great deals every once in a while!
