The many uses of Aloe Vera gel

I needed something to help with my bruised and scraped skin on my arm. I popped into Guardian, looking for some kind of remedy. As I browsed through the shelves, a sales assistant asked what I needed and I showed her my wound and explained I needed something for it.

This 100% cooling Aloe Vera gel is made from aloe vera leaves and is an effective moisturiser that forms a protective barrier that will retain moisture and at the same time promote healing. It is non-oily and is effective in relieving sunburns or minor burns, skin irritation from insect bites, itchiness as well as chafing and dry skin.

Other uses include applying the gel on hair to give it a soft and smooth texture or simply as a hair styling gel. You can also use it as a gentle shaving gel. You may also use this on blemishes but a word of caution – some skin types react negatively to it, so instead of being rid of blemishes, it can cause a break out. So know your own skin condition before you try this on your acne.
