The Face Shop Raspberry Roots Sleeping Mask review

by Penny on November 11, 2008

After much thought and many reviews of this star product of The Face Shop, I finally decided to give the Raspberry Roots Sleeping Mask a try. I’ve read only raving reviews of this sleeping mask and I was curious how great it is.

This sleeping mask comes in a bottle of 100ml and retails for RM89.90. It is water based and upon application, it absorbs easily. The mask is colourless and smells wonderfully refreshing. So at least you will feel quite comfortable sleeping in it all night long.

How to use the Raspberry Roots sleeping mask

On a cleansed face, apply your toning lotion, serum/essence, night cream and moisturiser. Basically, just go with your normal nightly skincare routine. This sleeping mask is the last step in your nightly skincare routine. You may also opt not to use your moisturiser if you intend to use this mask because it has hydration properties too.

Apply an even layer of this mask all over your face and neck, and fall into blissful sleep. When you awake the following morning, just rinse the mask off.

This mask is recommended to be used twice or three times a week.

Result of the Raspberry Roots sleeping mask

I’ve used this mask twice a week and honestly, I have yet to feel the effect of skin restoration or repair, as this mask is featured to perform. It is also hard for me to measure improvements in skin suppleness or firmness. However, what I did notice is that my face feels a little softer and smoother.

I also use this mask more as a hydration mask to replace my other hydration masks since I tend to have dry skin. I normally am unable to really detect the improvements, and the only person who can really tell is my beautician. I’m scheduled to see her at the end of this month, so I’ll see if she sees the difference.

I am generally quite happy with the mask although it is a bit expensive. I tend to use it a lot more than my other masks simply because I can sleep in it and it does have some relaxing qualities (maybe it’s the scent) that work wonderfully on me.

Just doing some research on the Vit C, and came across this post.

cleanse, toning lotion, serum/essence, night cream and moisturiser

Holy moly! 5 products every night! 6 if include the mask! I’m a guy, so I’m a little horrified.. OK, make that very horrified. When I get married, how long do I have to wait for wifey to get into bed..? And how much do have to pay for all these products?? arrrrggghhhhhhhhh. I think marry normal looking girl better hahaha

Hahaha…actually those few steps are considered just the bare minimum. I didn’t even talk about the eye cream, night cream, etc. Mmm…you just gotta be patient and wait for your better half to beautify herself before getting into bed in the nights and out the door in the daytime! :)
