I’ve been on the lookout for some home fittings and was recently shown a full page advertisement about this place called Houz Depot. They prize themselves to be offering good prices for their products. In the advertisement, it shows there’s a 3-day sale of up to 70% off and the tagline caught my eyes – The Largest Home Improvement Wholesale Hyperstore.

Good thing that they are located quite close to where I am, so I guess I can plan a visit this weekend to see if they are as good as they advertise to be, price wise. If they are really at “wholesale” prices, I would definitely recommend to a friend who’s thinking of self-furnishing some place she wants to buy as an investment from some Outer banks foreclosures. Smart move to get discounted properties, another smart move to buy fittings at great prices too!

Has anyone been to this place before? Any good, any reviews to share? Or you just want to wait for my visit there and tell you more about it?

I’ve got to first qualify that I’ve never shopped at Courts Mammoth before for household items. Actually, I’ve not even stepped into the huge megastore opposite The Curve although I sometimes make a mental note about checking it out some day.

I don’t know the service level of the shop but the items offered on sale from what I see from newspapers, they seem to be carrying reputable brands. And it works well for many that they are very happy to do payments via installments for your purchases too.

I saw that Courts is doing yet another round of sales now (see here), and they are mostly for household appliances. So if you are shopping for such items then it’s no harm to check them out. And if they offer interest-free installment plans, all the more the better!

A good time for those who are furnishing a new home or moving to a new home to take a look at what they have to offer from furniture to all these appliances. From sofas to TV sets to manufactured home theatre sets and even mobile phones and GPS devices, you can expect to see them all made available. Quite a one-stop shop or what?

CIMB Bank and Direct Access credit cardholders get huge discounts for ACCA KAPPA products

I gotta give it up to Citibank in its recent promotion in conjunction with its 50th Anniversary in Malaysia. It is running a contest called the Citibank Big 50 Contest from June to August 2009 where participants need not fill up forms or do stuff like write slogans. All you have to do is to use their products or sign up for new ones and be in the running to win.

The prizes are very attractive. To me personally, at least. Imagine, if you emerge the grand prize winner, you get not 1 but 50 gifts! The list of gifts includes a Mercedes Benz car, MacBook, camera, GPS device, handbag, iPod, Ogawa massage chair, vouchers for Coffee Bean, Lorenzo sofa set, trips to Barcelona, Hong Kong, Perth, refridgerator, air purifier….the list goes on and on. Remember some posts back I talked about some good reasons why you should apply for a ONE CARD by 1 Utama shopping center? Well, here’s one example of the special privilege as a member of the ONE CARD (You can click on the picture below for a larger image).

There’s going to be a 30% discount storewide at Gap, Guess, LaSenza and Raoul at 1 Utama’s outlets this week! I know HSBC was offering some discounts for the same outlets some weeks back, but for those who do not have the credit card, having the ONE CARD does pay off if you’re into these brands.
