Since I permed my hair in February this year, I found that the hair ends have become really dry and looks awfully damaged at times when I don’t apply enough hair serum. Also, I found that I tend to lose a lot of hair, especially so when washing. Also, my scalp tends to get oily very fast.

So I decided to do something about it by enquiring what kind of shampoo I should use to improve the condition of my hair.

I asked several salons before going back to the one that I got my perm done and was given some complicated dual diagnosis of what could be the problem with my scalp. It was a good thing I didn’t take the diagnosis too seriously from them because it seemed like a big problem I was having.

When I asked the lady at the salon where I usually get my hair done, I was simply recommended the Shiseido Fuente shampoo to fix the problems. It’s rather costly though, at about RM62 for a 300ml bottle. So what I did was to purchase the salon refill pack which comes in 1,000ml at RM120. It works out much cheaper to buy the refill pack.

The product description is as follows:

Usage of this shampoo will release your hair with a new-found freedom in volume, thickness and fluidity. As your scalp is pampered with cleansing, an added sheen of protection is given to your hair.

• Very mild but leaves hair feeling soft and refreshed

• The reaction of hair with Amino Acid induction provides a conditioning effect. Hair becomes stronger yet silkier, less static and no longer prone to breakage and dropping

• Menthol boosting agent leaves one feeling invigorated

• Floral green fragrance

• Effective formulation of Arnica Montana and Zanthoxylum Piper fruit extract for scalp promotes hair growth and helps regain hair’s natural black

The lady at the salon gave me wonderful advise on how to use the shampoo effectively. I was told to apply a small amount directly on the scalp area and clean thoroughly. I may rinse it off with water and apply another small amount to wash a second time, both times to concentrate on the scalp.

For conditioner, I was recommended to use another range from Shiseido as well, which is more suited for permed hair, the Shiseido Program Solution Hair Mask CW. A 200ml tube costs RM68.

• Restore hair damaged from coloring and perm and enhance hair suppleness

• Wavy hair becomes lighter and bouncier

It’s actually a hair mask, but can be used as a conditioner and for best effects, I leave it in for 2 minutes before rinsing off. The amount I was suggested to use is just the size of a 20 cents coin, to be applied only at the hair ends.

Now comes the reviews of both the Shiseido Fuente shampoo and Shiseido Program Solution Hair Mask.

I’ve only got good things to say about both the shampoo and hair mask as they really do the job that they are described to do in their respective product descriptions.

What I was most impressed with is that I saw results very quickly, and the results are great. I wash my hair on alternate days, so it’s not even a daily use shampoo for me. In fact, the results were already noticeable after the second time I used the shampoo and hair mask, and in that sparing amount recommended.

Although the products are pricey, I believe it does go a long way since I don’t use too much of them and most importantly, they truly work to restore healthier looking hair. Now my waves are soft and shiny compared to the dry and sparse condition they were in. I don’t even use my curl booster anymore because I like how soft and naturally the curls fall.

The ends of the hair look so much healthier now and I can even see the shine. The curls seem very natural too. I guess the results I’ve gotten is mostly the work of the hair mask. Shampoo wise, I guess it did help with the hair fall control as I noticed that I am not losing as much hair as before. But on the oily scalp area, it still hasn’t done much for me. Maybe it’s because I am out a lot and so my hair tends to get dirty faster.

I’m just happy enough to have found products that can help improve the health and look of my hair. Doesn’t matter if I have to do more frequent washing, but I still maintain an alternate day washing regime as I was told that washing hair on a daily basis is not really recommended.

If you are looking for good hair care products, I would definitely recommend this brand and if this range suits your hair type and condition, I would say it’s worth the price to pay. You may not want to use it over a long term, you can always use a bottle to get your hair back on track and make sure you manage well after that.

Truly no regrets and a big thumbs up for Shiseido’s hair products!

The other day I was browsing some products on Watsons’ shelves and came across this Japanese brand of hand and heel cream. Curious, I picked it up to read the label and I was horrified to read these words printed on the tube:

Did you have a good laugh and wonder in amazement how on earth the English was so atrociously used? It sure put me off more than reading the words “click here to learn more about hcg diet” in many of the ads I see on websites.

You bet I didn’t buy the cream. If you are the adventurous type and have actually tried it, do share more info with us, and in proper English please!

Since I permed my hair about 4 months back, I find that the hair ends are especially dry. I’ve been using Shiseido’s Crystallizing Aquafix but then I stopped when I found that maybe the hair moisturiser is meant more for straight hair. So off I went to search for a hair moisturiser and that’s when I chanced upon Liese Hair Cocktail Moisturizing Hair Serum at Watsons.

I believe this range of hair care product from Kao is pretty new in Malaysia but has been a best seller in Japan, from what I see on the label prints of the Liese range of hair care products.

The thing about the Liese Hair Cocktail Moisturizing Hair Serum is that it comes in 2 available options, one with a Light label and the other just the name of the hair serum. I decided to take the Light version to try out first. When I read the labels on both the bottles, I couldn’t tell any difference between them as they were printed with exactly the same stuff.

This Liese Hair Cocktail Moisturizing Hair Serum (Light) that I got comes in a blue-green mixture of nourishing water and anti-frizz oil. On the label, it says that the bottle needs to be shaken before use so that the water and oil will mix. At each application, it is advised that you use just a little at a time to apply on wet or dry hair. This is so that it doesn’t wear the hair down. You may apply several times but each time, use a small amount as indicated on the label.

So how did I find this hair serum? Not too bad. I especially love the smell of the peach and prune extracts. Very delicious indeed! The scent actually reminds me of the smell of the once-famous Dew Berry collection from Body Shop.

But the scent actually doesn’t last on the hair at all, it smells delicious during application but I found that it soon disappears. It’s also non-sticky on the hair after application, so I like that too. It doesn’t make the hair look oily either. I’ve tried using the hair serum both on dry and wet hair, and I found that when using on wet hair, the serum tends to disappear a lot faster and I tend to use more of it on wet hair compared to when the hair is dry.

The hair does feel more moisturised and it does the trick of my other hair care product, which is a cream that gives curly hair a boost. That cream hardens the hair, as if I’ve applied some gel. So when this hair serum can keep my hair just as moisturised and wavy, I cut down the use of the curls booster.

When this bottle is used up, I think I will give the other option a try and see if there’s any difference, whether or not it’s a stronger concentrate of this light version. Will write more about that when it happens. But coming up not too long from now will be a review of another Kao’s Liese product, Liese Juicy Shower. No it’s not a shower cream. It’s a hydrating hair mist! If you would like to know how well that works, do stay tuned.

I only recently heard of F-Cup Cookie from a local magazine. Have you? For those who have not heard, F-Cup Cookie is a breast enhancement product from Japan. They are cookies that are made with special ingredients to enhance the size of breasts.

Hats off to the Japanese for even thinking up such a product. But I do wonder if it’s actually effective. But no, I’m not going to try it. If anybody has tried this and want to share your story or experience, you’re more than welcome to share your feedback with us on this post. We’d be very happy to learn more about it as I’m sure many of us are curious about this product.

If you do a search on the internet, there are many channels available for you to buy this product. But I do advise you to exercise some caution when shopping online, especially when going through the credit card processing. Please find a reliable site and do your research before you make any purchase.

Lately the internet is key to many people. Not only is it a vast pool of knowledge and resources, it has also become a business medium for thousands of people. Before, to be able to sell something, you will most likely think it a hindrance in terms of setting up shop. But now with the internet, people don’t need a store front so businesses on the internet have mushroomed all over the world almost instantly.

Some of the most popular products sold on the internet are ladies clothing and skin care. For the latter type of products, I actually have reservations. For those skin care brands which are unknown, I highly doubt the quality of it and since they are on sale only on the internet, I don’t even have a chance to try a sample to see if it works for me.

Even if it is a well known brand being sold online by individual sellers, I also wonder why they would be able to sell cheaper than the shops if their prices are indeed cheaper. If they are comparable, I would prefer to walk in to the shops to get it so that I know I’m getting the real thing.

There are lots of sites selling very niche products and brands too, and I’ve not really heard of many so it makes me somewhat uncomfortable. If I were to purchase the acclaimed best acne treatment online, how do I really verify that information and who do I go to if there’s a problem?

But those are just my personal thoughts and concerns. I know many women are ok buying their personal care products online. What about you? Are you comfortable buying skin care products online?
