Other than my own shop, I am also quite trusting of other online retailers. As long as I don’t see any dodgy signs, I’m quite open minded to give them a first time try. Some of the online purchases I’ve made in recent months include a hair care product shop, an auto car insurance (it’s so convenient to get an insurance quote online these days), and an online bookstore.

If you are a hesitant online shopper, you can always start to shop with the more reputable online retailers, like Amazon.com or even a local retailer like MPH Online. Once you get the hang of it, and the beauty of receiving products at your door step, you will definitely shop more online!

I’m so excited that I recently found a collection of beautiful clothing that I can bring in to offer to my wonderful customers at Penny’s Online Shop. And the collection is of great quality, what I would like to term as premium grade. I’m an online shopper for a few years already, but I’ve never shopped on eBay. I just can’t bring myself to bid for stuff because I can’t take the “excitement” of whether I will get it in the end at a price that I am comfortable with. I’d rather someone fix a price and I decide whether or not I want to pay for it. But I understand that a lot of sellers on eBay now don’t use the bid system anymore. But still I’ve never set foot in there.

I guess the eBay in Malaysia isn’t really a big thing. The more popular one seems to be Lelong.com. I’ve also never bought anything from this site. Have you? Though I don’t shop at these sites, I do know that they are great resources for many people. Not just people in business who have merchandises to sell for a profit, but also for those who want to sell just about anything that they want to get rid of. Students who want to sell textbooks, mothers who want to sell away old toys or strollers, or people who simply want to sell away their little pieces of home decor, clothes, furniture, etc.

Over the last few weeks when we cleared out a lot of belongings to get rid of, we never thought of trying our luck with selling them on eBay. You never know, one man’s poison is another man’s meat. So our stuff could actually fetch a little something and someone out there may just be looking for what we now do not want anymore.

I am looking for a few pieces of simple furniture, just a small working table with a swivel chair and a couple of bookshelves or a chest of drawers for storage. I don’t know why in the first place I didn’t think of Ikea since they are having some year end sales. It only dawned on me when I received a copy of their sales catalogue.

Before that, since I didn’t have much time to go out shopping, I was doing some searches online to see if I can find some designs which match what I had in mind. I was just searching for pictures of the items but I came across so many online furniture and furnishing shops on a free link directory. Of course they aren’t based in Malaysia. I don’t think these kinds of items are popularly shopped for online in this part of the world.

It just amazed me that people do shop for their home furnishings online. I would like to touch and feel the items before making the decision to buy them because they aren’t cheap to start with.

Are you the type who find it a great idea for shop for your furniture online? How do you make that decision if it’s a good piece? Although it’s convenient and I am one who’s definitely an advocate for online shopping, I really don’t know how to shop for furniture online!
