I’ve been shopping for Christmas gifts for my son and came away impressed with so many items. But the one item that really blew me away is the Beados beads. So I think this will be one great gift this Christmas to kids who are above the age of three. Well, at least that’s what the package says, that it is only suitable for children above 3 years of age.

If you have not heard about or seen a Beados set, here’s what it is.

In a package of Beados, there are hundreds of beads in many different colours. A Beados pen has many slots for you to fill up all the beads and you should fill different coloured ones into different slots. Then, all you need to do is to make designs that you want with the beads from the pen on the given tray. When you’re done, use the special water sprayer that’s included to spray some water on the bead design you’ve created. Magically, the beads will stick together and you’ve got yourself a nice beaded artwork.

See how easy and fun it is? I spotted this wonderful craft set in Jusco. Surprisingly I didn’t see this in Toys R Us outlets. There are many sets available so prices vary. But I think they all don’t cost more than RM50 per set. Additional beads are also for sale on its own so I think it will be good to start with a starter pack and add on as you go.

Remember to supervise your young children playing with this as it is a choking hazard since the beads are small. Just play along with the kids’ and it will be fun for all of you! You will also be happy to know that this craft set is declared non-toxic, so you should have peace of mind to let the kids imagination run wild and cultivate creativity in them while they have lots of fun.

This Christmas, get something personalised and meaningful for the man in your life. He could be your father, your special other half, your siblings, whoever the man is. Get him a business card holder that you can personalise. You can choose to engrave his name or initials on it, or you can even choose a special message to be written on the card holder so that it holds special meaning for him.

A personalised name card holder is nicer than a generic one. Just add his name or initials and it’s done. So simple!

You can choose the hard cased card holders or you can go for leather ones. There are quite a few variations of designs for each of these. But before you make the purchase, do check with the shop assistant on the personalisation to see if they can do it and how much space is allocated so that you can plan your messages in the space constraint given, if any.

A business card holder also comes in many different budgets, depending on the brand you select. So it’s up to you how much you want to spend on one. Sometimes it is not the brand that counts, so it doesn’t have to be an expensively branded one.

You may want to base your selection criteria on how many cards the name card holder can take. Sometimes there are some designs that can’t take heapfuls of cards in them whilst some are able to keep mounts of them. So remember this when you are choosing one.

Christmas is a time of giving and the act of giving does not necessarily mean we have to spend a lot of money. Sometimes, the best things in life are free. Wouldn’t you agree that a warm hug is simply priceless?

One of the best gifts that we can give to friends and loved ones is the gift of books. Cultivating a love and habit for reading is one that will bring someone a long way in life. Reading expands one’s horizons and for some people who read the right books at the right time, it can be life changing. I have gone through such an experience before, therefore I’m speaking from my very own experience.

I went for the one sometime in May this year and bought lots of very cheap books. Motivational and self help books, personal finance books, books on enterpreneurship and business insurance, some novels, etc which cost me between RM8 to RM10 per book. So you see, you can pick up great titles for just about anyone you want to buy Christmas gifts for, and since they are so cheap, you probably can afford to pick up 2 to 3 titles instead of just 1 book each for everyone. Christmas is just around the corner, with just 1 short month to go! Here at Shopping & Sales Queen, it is almost a tradition to post some Christmas gift ideas for all to tap and pick up some ideas on what to get for their loved ones and friends come the holiday season.
