Off and on, I find some good online stores based in the US. I get tempted by their products and the prices seem relatively cheap compared to what we would pay for here for something similar.
But just when I’m about to put something into my shopping cart, I realise that they either don’t receive non-US credit cards or they don’t deliver outside of the US. I often leave the site empty-handed and disappointed.
But lately I’ve discovered a way to purchase from such US online stores. Thanks to HSBC and Maybank’s innovation, they have come up with vPost and Global eShop respectively which allows shoppers like me to use local credit cards to shop on US online merchants and best of all, have the items shipped to me! This is done via an initial shipment to a US address that is provided by the banks. Then, my purchases will be forwarded to my home from there on. Shipping charges aren’t very much more expensive if you’re thinking it’s double charge for double shipping.
Do check it out if you are an avid online shopper like me! Thank you, HSBC and Maybank!
