Shopping for a medical plan

by Penny on August 11, 2010

When I first quit my job, I knew what I was giving up. It was more than just the job itself which I didn’t mind giving up at all, but it was the fringe benefits that I’ve taken for granted all the 10 years of my working life back then. Now that I’m running my own show, I realised that I had better start looking for some good medical plan for myself as I’m no longer covered by any employer.

Anyone has any great recommendations? I’ve seen a couple but found them to be rather similar, no one that was more outstanding than the other. It’s a pity that we don’t have what some of the western countries have something called a health savings account.

Would definitely appreciate some of your feedback or opinions if you have signed up for such a plan. After all I would love to shop smart and hear from customers themselves rather than just the companies selling their services.

Just a 2 cents advice from an agent & customer perpestive.

Few of the important factors for a medical plan:-

1) Nature of the plan (be it standalone medical card, medical card attach to investment link plan or medical card attach to traditional life)
2) the table of yearly premium (particularly in the medical coverage itself)
3) whether it is guaranteed renewal
