Review of the Secrets of the Millionaire Mind book

by Penny on August 4, 2009

One of the books that I picked up cheaply from the Big Bad Wolf Books warehouse sale some 3 months back is Secrets of the Millionaire Mind: Think Rich to Get Rich! I was not into these kind of books thinking that it’s only going to tell me what I already know.

In a way, it is true. Nevertheless, since I was in the right mindset to change and to accept new ideas with a more open mind, I found this book an excellent experience for me. Read on below for my take and review of this book written by T. Harv Eker.

This book is not a book that will teach you the methods in making money. Instead, it talks about the mindset of rich and successful people. According to T. Harv Eker, who has not only written this book but constantly gives seminar on this topic and more, states that it is important to first have the correct mindset about money before having any dreams about being rich.

Without the correct mindset, you may not make the kind of money that you want or even if you do make the money, you just can’t sustain the wealth that you want.

That’s the gist of the book but of course it has a lot of useful details about how our minds work and how it affects us consciously and subconsciously in our money making and management altogether.

The book is written in a way that is very easy to read. It is not all about theory and definitely not a dry topic. When you read the book, it feels like the author is talking to you one-on-one.

Although you may find that the ideas suggested in his book are not something new, you may find it just as useful and inspiring because he is painting your life in front of you and telling you the core reason you’re not where you want to be. For me, a lot of scenarios that he named in the book hit home with me. And I see a clearer reason why I haven’t been meeting any of my goals.

He also suggests ways and simple exercises that don’t require much effort in a change of mindset so that we’re able to find the way to reach our goals. He does insist on you doing them seriously if you have not already achieved your goals. He points out that if you are not already there, what’s the harm in doing what he’s suggesting? You might just get there sooner and I thought to myself, how true. What’s the harm?

Since I got my hands on that book, I’ve changed. And I’m looking forward to some changes to come in my life by putting some of his advise to work. It may not be the greatest book on earth for everybody, but it has been one useful book for me to help me see things differently and also a motivation for me to go for what I want with a more positive mindset.

I spent just RM8 on this book at the warehouse sale. It can’t get any better than this…to be able to buy this book so cheaply and have it do so much wonders to my state of mind, soul and life! This is a God-sent book for me!

If you have read this book and find it just like any other ordinary book, it’s alright. Just leave it on your collection or library. When you go through a phase in your life where you want to find inspiration and a good change to your life or have a financial goal you want to meet but don’t know how to start, pick up this book again. It will do you good when you are in the right mindset!
