Review of a fun book: How To Talk To Anyone by Leil Lowndes

Recently I received a book as a birthday gift, and I started reading it immediately although I have many unfinished books at the same time. The title of the book is catchy and interesting, so I started right away. It’s a book by Leil Lowndes called How To Talk To Anyone, 92 Little Tricks for Big Success in Relationships.

It’s a really fun book and it doesn’t hurt anyone to learn more about communication and better yet, how to improve the way we come across to people, whether they are complete strangers or people who are already familiar to us.

Although it is a rather thick book of over 340 pages, it is quite an easy read. Some chapters are very short and straight to the point, so it makes you feel like you achieved many chapters in a very short period of time. Talk about making you feel good about yourself! :)

I would say that I have learned some new things from Leil Lowndes’ book and at the same time managed to reinforce some other previously learned ideas that were never implemented. It’s packed with quite a lot of information regarding every little aspect from reading body language and facial expression to making small talks and how to be an intelligent conversationalist. So I think this book will need plenty of re-reading if not act as a reference every once in a while.

From this book, I not only learned some useful tips and tricks on the art of communication, I also picked up some interesting general knowledge as the author so generously shared some very enlightening stories. Makes good conversations to break the ice if you remember those stories to tell.

This book retails at all major bookstores and you can get your copy for RM51.80 at MPH. I think other bookstores should also be selling at similar price range. If you love reading and looking forward to improve bits and pieces of your communication with others, read this book!
