seo 300x231 Recommended SEO that works?

Strange to be talking about seo software in a shopping blog, huh? You see, I recently received some emails from some of you who visited my blog from doing searches online. I must say that I was thrilled when these visitors wrote to me asking which SEO software I use since this blog seems to do quite well in a few things they were searching for. So I thought I’d take this shopping experience a little further by touching on technology and the internet too.

Honestly, I don’t use any fancy SEO tools, just some basic free plugins. I have not shopped for SEO softwares before, but if anyone who’s reading this has some great recommendations, it would definitely help for the visitors who asked the question.

I have browsed just casually about and saw many companies offering this service but howdo you know which is better? The price of one company to another also differs by a lot, some in the hundreds and some into the many thousands of dollars. How do you shop for THE one?

Shopping for a destination…

by Penny on January 14, 2010

family trip

Happy new year to everyone. This blog has taken quite a break since the last posting! Well I’m back…and the first thing I’m itching to shop for this year is a vacation. A family trip, to be more specific.

In the longer term, I want to go some place far, like I talked about in my mummy blog, I want to go the Disneyland in the US with my son, then maybe do a quick tour of Outer Banks and if time and cash permits, maybe we can even do a quick run to Canada.

But right now I’m also itching to go somewhere, it doesn’t have to be far, perhaps a domestic vacation would do. We were thinking of Cameron Highlands but I think I saw some landslide issue recently around that place. So maybe we should stay clear of there for now.

Any place you can recommend as a good family hot spot for the weekend? Not some place stressful please…with a kid around, we need everything to be convenient and easy-going :)

How fun can it be shopping for office supplies?

by Penny on December 30, 2009

office supplies

I found myself making a list of office supplies to buy and I plan on getting them tomorrow. I never even thought that buying stationeries would be exciting but I surprised myself when I did feel a little excited over it!

When done with the list, I was wondering where I should shop for the items. I think places like Popular bookstore and even Jusco’s stationery department may be quite cost effective for things like that. Maybe I should check out those stationery shops that sell mostly to companies for their office needs too. I may be able to find more choices and maybe even end up with more suppplies than I listed down! :P

This sure is one boring shopping list for most people…let’s see if I will get bored while shopping for them tomorrow!

Which credit cards do you shop with?

by Penny on December 28, 2009

credit cards

The other day I was asked which are the credit cards I shop most often with. Well the truth is, these days I’ve switched to using debit cards. I’ve also cut up a few of my credit cards and am planning to keep just about 2 or 3. So as to the question of which cards get to be kept in my purse and also the ones that I tend to us, it all depends…

I don’t normally check out what promotions are being offered by which cards. I use them more because I’m influenced by the point of purchase displays that I see at the stores when I’m at the cashier. I think HSBC does a pretty good job in placing their privileges displays at many of their partner merchants, so I guess I tend to use more of that card if I want to enjoy the discounts.

Other than that, I would use a specific card to enjoy some rebates for my petrol purchases. I used to have cards that offered cash back too but I’ve decided to cut that off as I find that I don’t charge up that high a bill to get good cash backs anyway. So I use my cards just for discounts on shopping and rebates on fuel.

What about you? How do you use your credit cards wisely when shopping? Do you consciously plan your shopping so that you consolidate your purchases on one card to either get the reward points or rebates, or do you spread them out just because different cards offer different discounts?

Christmas greetings

christmas bells for decoration

Here’s wishing everyone a Joyous and Merry Christmas! And to those who aren’t celebrating, we wish you a nice long holiday.

How has your Christmas been thus far? Ours have been great so far. Shopping for Christmas gifts this year was quite a challenge, I have to admit. I walked and walked at the malls for hours and until my feet blistered and ached. But it’s all done in good faith and love, thinking hard for the perfect gift to get for my loved ones.

But what I also did a bit differently this year is to contribute to those who are less fortunate. Some Christmas cheer and donation went to some children’s home, drug rehab facility, and to some families who do not have enough food to put on their dining tables.

It feels good and right to be able to spread the Christmas joy and the spirit of giving all around, not only to those whom we love but to everyone else too. There are lots of NGOs around that you can choose to contribute to, so just do your research and pick the ones you feel most comfortable with.

May you have a blessed time this Christmas…
