For snacks, they have quite a large selection and mix of of nyonya and local kuih available. You have quite a lot to choose from both the sweet and savoury selections. I’m not a fan of kuih so I’ve not tried them. But I do see a lot of patrons going for them so I deduce they’re not bad at all.
For meals, they offer a variety of laksa, nasi lemak, dried curry mee and even nasi kunyit with curry chicken. I have many favourites, so I can’t pin it down to just one.
The nasi lemak is served with rice cooked with pandan flavour, so it has a mild greenish colour to it. The rendang chicken served along with it is great too. The sambal is really different from others and we even asked for an extra portion! The nasi lemak also comes with a mango salad that’s very refreshing. I find this nasi lemak much better than many of the contemporary kopitiam eateries.
Another favourite of mine is the nasi kunyit with curry chicken. The curry is served with a generous portion of chicken that’s very tender. It’s not that spicy so it at least allows you to enjoy the meal without burning your tongue. The nasi kunyit is also quite well done. The portion doesn’t look too big at first glance but do bear in mind it’s glutinous rice and it really fills you up.
The yellow curry noodle is also quite delicious. Its main ingredient is chicken and like the curry chicken served with the nasi kunyit, the meat is very tender. The laksa doesn’t contain too much coconut milk and is mildly spicy.
Nyonya Colors does catering as well. So if you like their food, you can consider them for your functions.
