Angie, I've got to learn how to test out the camera and all. Or better still, get my more expert friends to help coz I'm sure they know better how to determine the quality of a camera, huh? I find the D80 a bit too bulky for me. I'm still an amateur, not willing to lug around a big camera, haha!

Justin, I would think the price difference between new and used would be quite big. So it is quite tempting to have some savings there...

Neo, that's what's tempting me, that the prices of an entry level isn't exactly killing. That's why still don't know if I should. Hard decision!

Have to look at the condition and the price of the 2nd hand. Otherwise just get a new one, they are very cheap these days.

I would say go for the second hand body if the price is worth it.

Hey there... I just dropped by this blog...

I think your friends are quite right to say that you can start with a 2nd hand body. However, do check the body properly and ensure that the shutter and sensors are working properly before purchasing it.

A good camera body is important but its the lenses which will be an investment later.

Anyway, just out of curiosity - between the D60 and D80, why not the D80?
