So we decided a 7-seater should be a good buy to cater to our needs for the long term. So we scouted around and picked out a few models – Honda Stream, Toyota Wish and Mazda 5. It’s just a coincidence that they’re all Japanese cars. We have no particular preference for any make.
Between the three, we picked the Toyota Wish. We bought a CBU Japan car and so far it’s serving its purpose rather well. Its got spacious seats and leg room for both the front and back passengers. I like the height of the MPV too. I’ve never liked to climb high into a car seat and so I’m glad that I can easily glide my way into the seat.
This eco-friendly car is also very smooth in its handling. I’m not a car expert, so I won’t elaborate much about how it feels behind the wheels, except that it’s a pleasant driving experience and I’ve no complaints on its performance.
However, there are a few things that I find not so practical about the car. For whatever reason, it doesn’t come with a temperate gauge. It’s a bit too late to see the smoke from the bonnet to know that the engine has over-heated, isn’t it? Also, I’m not sure if passengers in the third row of seats would be too warm since the air-conditioning windows are only available in the front. I am a fan of cars with auto-lock as you drive. Unfortunately, this car doesn’t come with that. But I suppose it’s not a big setback because there is a central-lock button anyway.
Other than that, I find it a comfortable car that meets our expectations. It’s quite a sleek looking car too. Ask any members of Wish Club Malaysia and I’m sure they only have good things to say about the car!
