I’m been trying out some Vichy products for a while now and promised to include some reviews on them. I’ve done one so far (read it here) and this one will be on Vichy’s Aqualia Thermal’s range meant for skin hydration. I will start off this range’s review with the Aqualia Thermal Fortifying & Soothing 24Hour Hydrating Concentrate. It is actually an essence to be used after a toner and before the moisturiser.
I started trying out this hydrating essence with some free samples given to me by the lovely Vichy counter girl. I told her that I love hydration products and she didn’t hesitate to provide me with some trial and sample sizes of various items. She told me that she personally uses this 24-hour hydrating essence and she found it to be good on her dry skin.
When I was done using all the samples she had given me, I was convinced that I will go and get the actual size bottle and I’m so glad that I did because I’m loving it everyday! Find out why, and maybe you too would love it just as much!
This Aqualia Thermal Fortifying & Soothing Hydrating Concentrate comes in a glass bottle of 30ml and retails for RM130. If you are lucky enough to catch it on promotion, the price can sometimes go down by about 20%. This essence is about half the price of essences from branded cosmetic counters I’ve used before like Clarins and Biotherm, but about double the price of generic pharmacy brands like Loreal. So is this essence worth its price?
For me personally I find that it’s worth the money. For every small dollop of essence that I pump out and spread on my face, I feel the lasting coolness on my face for almost the entire day! And no it’s not the wind blowing at me or the air-conditioning in the office that’s cooling me down, because I only feel that coolness on my face. And only since I started using this essence. No wonder it’s termed as a 24-hour hydrating concentrate. Very true to its name and promise!
The essence is also matt in finish so you won’t feel an oily layer after spreading it on. It feels smooth as if you’ve applied some baby powder on! It’s also an added bonus that I like the fresh yet mild scent of this essence. I use it in the day and night and I love how it perks me up, not to mention the cooling sensation on my face. Makes me feel fresher, actually.
So if you are looking for an essence that provides you with all-round hydration throughout the day, you can consider this product from Vichy’s Aqualia Thermal range. Even better, before you buy it, get some samples to try it out for yourself. This saves you some money in case you don’t like it or it’s not suitable for your skin for some reason. Once convinced, I’m sure you wouldn’t mind paying for it.
I tried another essence from Vichy’s Normaderm range earlier and found that it didn’t work as well for me. In fact I didn’t feel much of an effect. So I guess this Aqualia Thermal range is a keeper for me. Having said that, I am also using another range from this brand, the Normaderm Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care moisturiser for the day. Will write more about that one in another post soon.
So girls, this product is a thumbs up for me. And if you’re trying it, I hope it comes up a winner for you too.
