I have 2 questions for you. What is the one purchase you’ve made so far that has lasted you for a very long time? Also, what do you consider to be your most valued and worthy buy so far?
For me, my most lasting purchase has to be a pair of jeans. Some 8 years ago I walked into a Guess outlet when they were running one of their many sales promotion and I picked up a pair of dark blue jeans. I can’t remember what was the price tag on it, but I do remember paying less than RM100 for it. It was on 70% discount. Great buy or what?
I would think so because it had lasted me for eight years now and I’m still wearing the same pair of jeans today. It’s my favourite pair of jeans since the day I bought it till now. No kidding. The more I wear it, the more I love it because it gets very well seasoned and therefore is very soft. The colour has also not faded at all and so it doesn’t look the least bit an old pair of jeans.
But I got a feeling I won’t be able to wear it for very much longer as the elasticity at the waistband is not as good anymore. It’s actually dropping off my hips a little and I need to put a belt on nowadays to keep it sitting properly on my hips. I used to wear it bare with no belt. I guess I can continue to wear it until it becomes totally unbearable in the sense that it drops too much and look awful on me. But otherwise, I really intend to have another year or two’s use out of it.
Don’t you just love great buys like that, something that is branded, of good quality, costs you a fraction of the price due to the sales, and best of all it has lasted for so long!
To answer the second question on what is considered my most valued or worthy buy so far…well there are actually many items I can think of but I would not hesitate to give it up to a book I bought recently at the Big Bad Wolf Books warehouse sale.
At the sale I picked up more than 2 dozen books for less than RM10 each. But the one big winner for me is the Secrets of The Millionaire Mind. You can read my review of Secrets of the Millionaire Mind book if you would like to know more about it.
I consider this to be the best purchase I’ve ever made in my life because I feel a change in me after reading this book. You may say that it’s because I was looking for change and that had led me to read this book and therefore apply the ideas of the book. I guess you can say that, but then I’ve also read other books during the same period but did not find them to do for me what this book has done.
I only spent RM8 on this book at the warehouse sale. And for RM8 to change my life, thoughts and perception for good, how can this purchase not be the winner of them all?

As for me, my best purchase would be Burberry the Beat 50ml edp+75ml lotion at Metrojaya warehouse sale last April. Only RM120 per set, retail price is RM260++..=)
Then, I got myself three pairs of Miss Sixty jeans, very stylish and comfy for RM20,RM80 and RM90 at Miss Sixty, Energie warehouse sale!! Retail price is around RM700++!
I love warehouse sale, it’s a smart shopping. Being a student, wanting to get myself a branded items, warehouse sale is a life saver!

Thank goodness warehouse sales are the norm these days. I cannot imagine those days when we only counted on sales at the stores which aren’t all that great most of the times.

This week, until this Sunday, the Metrojaya warehouse sale is on at Satdium Melawati Shah Alam, however, it’s disappointing. No Burberry perfumes.. Ai..
Yes I’ve heard of that outlet in Centro but never been coz it’s a bit far for me and I’m not familiar with Klang. But I’ve heard quite good stuff said about it in terms of much cheaper prices on those branded items. Aww, sorry you didn’t find much value at the warehouse sale…try at others. I’m sure there’re gonna be lots more warehouse sales coming up for perfumes
