Karaoke set for the kids
by Penny on June 19, 2008
The Japanese have done it again. They’ve invented a karaoke set on the go for kids which they call Hi-kara. It’s the smallest karaoke machine in the world, measuring only 2.8 inches. The Hi-kara comes with headsets so you don’t have to worry about being bombarded with the “karaoke noise”.

How it works is that apart from buying the little machine, you will also need to buy a catridge that will hold 10 pre-installed songs. Alternatively, you can also download 10 songs online from a choice of about 3,500 titles.
This gadget is yet to be launched, and only expected to be launched in Japan in October. It is still unknown when it will be introduced to other parts of the world. At the moment, it is expected to be sold at 10,000 Yen, equivalent to about USD100. The catridge will cost 2,000 Yen (about USD20).
So parents, the next time you don’t want your kids to fight over the karaoke set at home, or you can’t bring them to the many karaoke outlets we have, just swing them a Hi-kara!
