During the Big Bad Wolf Books warehouse sales some 2 months back, I stumbled upon some books that had very captivating covers (I’m a big time sucker for appealing book covers, never mind the content first!). One of them that particularly caught my eye is called Japanese Women Don’t Get Old or Fat, written by Naomi Moriyama.

The reason I’m mentioning this book today and not back then is because in all my excitement of my purchases at the sale then, I forgot about this book. Then today I happen to be browsing at a book shop and I saw this book and I was reminded of how captivated I was by it.
I flipped through the book and found it to be such an interesting way to present some help in the area of losing weight. The book cover actually made me think it was some chick flick at first! I’ve never really seen an interesting weight loss book like this.
Those book covers with the pictures of diet pills spilled all over the page or a measuring tape going around a fruit or a body or some slim silhoutte picture of a woman just don’t make the books look that interesting. Not to mention the title! Just look at this one, once you read the title, don’t you just feel like picking it up and going through it to see what it’s all about?
I did pick it up and flipped through some pages and that’s how I came to know the interesting ways the ideas are being presented. But since I’m not into losing weight, I didn’t buy the book although it was selling for just RM8 at the warehouse sale.
And now, it suddenly struck me that maybe I should’ve just picked it up because there could possibly be some good tips on how to age gracefully too judging by the title of the book. I was just focusing on that “fat” word and completely sidelined the “old” word! Silly me or what?!
If you would like to check out the book, just go to Amazon and read about it.
