Impressed with tailoring service

Za Altera is a pretty good place to do outfit alterations. I first went to them about 4 years ago when I couldn’t find a recommended and reliable tailor. I brought in a chiffon gown to be shortened, so it was really an easy job. Then two years later, still not having known any trusted tailors, I decided to bring my wedding gown to be altered by them again. This time I needed the gown to be altered smaller. The gown has lots of beading work on it and they told me that they needed time to do the alterations without disrupting the beading too much. I readily agreed, so long as they took good care of the gown.

I was happy with both the jobs done over the years. Lately I cleared out my wardrobe and decided to have some of them restyled. I wanted a long gown to be restyled to a knee-length dress, an off-shoulder one to be added on with spaghetti straps and one that needed expansion. All of which I decided to bring in to Za Altera.

I was happy that they took the time to listen, made me try them out one by one and explained how they were going to get the job done. The one that needed expansion involved a lot more work. Honestly, I didn’t know if it could be done and I was delighted when upon close examination, they said it’ll be alright. If I can’t get it expanded, I would forever be only looking at it without wearing it. So I was happy that they found a way to do it for me despite it being a slim chance. And it isn’t as expensive as I thought it’d be.

The waiting time is 2 weeks. It’s not as fast as I would like but I suppose since I’m not in such a rush to wear them, it’s not too bad. Plus I think they really have a lot on their hands.

So if you are tailor-less and need your outfits altered, you can give them a try. I’m not sure where all their outlets are located, but here are some I know of – Mid Valley Megamall, The Curve, 1 Utama and Sunway Pyramid.
