The Grand Hi-Lai Hotel in the area of Kaohsiung in Taiwan offers one of a kind Hello Kitty rooms. A friend of mine who is an avid Hello Kitty fan will definitely go crazy should she be able to land herself a room here at this grand and beautiful hotel.
Accommodation types available for the Hello Kitty concept at the Grand Hi-Lai Hotel are Hello Kitty Suites and Hello Kitty Rooms. All the cute Hello Kitty amenities that you find in these rooms are available for sale at an exclusive shop called the Hi-Lai Kitty House that is situated at the lobby of the hotel. Hi-Lai Kitty House offers exclusive limited edition Hello Kitty merchandises as well as gifts.
I think Sanrio and the hotel management are quite clever in filling up the rooms with interesting Hello Kitty products and then offer the same for sale at the store front. Fans of Hello Kitty are most likely to just buy from from the hotel store rather than to go in search of them in Sanrio stores which may not carry these products anyway. This is really smart marketing! But it will only work on true Hello Kitty fans, I must say.
I haven’t been able to find out what the room rates are like for the Hello Kitty rooms and suites but I bet they do not come cheap. After all, The Grand Hi-Lai Hotel is a 5-star hotel in Taiwan. Since most of us will unlikely be booking a Hello Kitty room, let’s just be happy to feast on these pictures to see how the rooms look like.
