Eucerin’s Pigmentation Regulating Fluid

This post has been updated to include a review of how it has performed after weeks of using it. Read about the revised post here.
anti pigment fluid Eucerins Pigmentation Regulating Fluid

I recently spotted this product in a magazine and with it came a RM5 discount voucher for a few Eucerin products. I have a pigmentation problem. Whenever I’m exposed to the sun for a little too long, I see new freckles being formed on my face rather quickly.

Everyone knows freckles are irreversible unless you go for lasik. I’m not up for this treatment because it is not a permanent method to be rid of freckles. In fact, if the freckles reappear after the lasik treatment is performed, it is said that the pigmentation will be even darker than before lasik was performed.

This anti-pigment product from Eucerin contains Dioic Acid as well as UVA/UVB protection (SPF 20). Dioic Acid is claimed to be proven to reduce pigmentation disorders. How this product works is that the Dioic Acid slows down the production and distribution of melanin whilst the highly concentrated UVA/UVB absorbers reduce the formation of new melanin. So note that this is not a promise to get rid of freckles permanently. I’m quite happy to try this product out just to slow down the formation of freckles.

The fluid comes in a 50ml glass bottle with a pump. It retails for RM82 and you can find it at Guardian and Watson outlets.

The results claimed by this product are as follows:

  • After 4 weeks the skin is brighter and more even-toned.
  • After 8 weeks, the appearance of pigmentary discolorations is significantly reduced.

I will be monitoring these 2 claims and come the 4th and 8th weeks, I’ll write a post to update on the actual results. So stay tuned!

You can try Neostrata pigmentation cream. Rm 90-95 not too sure. You can buy it at skin clinic or any clinic that sells Neostrata. Doctor’s recommendation, so it’s safer. I tried it out. Some spots were lighten in a few days. I guess that depends on how dark is your pigment.

Try SKII whitening Source. A girlfriend used it and apparently it works wonders on lightening her freckles. :)

Anon, thanks, I will check this out. I didn’t know medical clinics actually sell skincare products, especially for pigmentation since it is not a health hazard. Thanks for the tip!

MisSmall, SKII is expensive stuff, but I suppose if it works, it’s worth the price to pay huh.

If I use Eucerin Pigmentation Regulating fluid do I still have to use a moisturize and sun block.? What is the sequence if I use the pigmentation fluid.Does this product effective to lighten pigmentation/ freckles?

I still use my moisturizer but not my sunblock. This pigmentation fluid is used after the moisturizer. However, if I am going to be out in the sun a lot for the day, I usually put on additional sunblock after applying this fluid. Hope this helps.

Do I apply the anti pigment fluid on targeted spot only or the whole face after the moisturize?

I use it on my whole face because I want to prevent my entire face from pigmentation. You may want to focus more at the cheekbone area because it is most prone to freckles.
