Have you managed to get some time to watch Duplicity? This movie stars one of my favourite female actress, Julia Roberts and the leading actor is Clive Owen. If you have not already heard about this movie, it’s about Claire and Ray who are both secret intelligence service agents who decided to get their acts together in making it big for themselves.
Seeing that I love spy shows, Duplicity is definitely my kind of movie and I have decided that it’s a thumbs-up movie just by watching the trailer months ago! Now that I’ve managed to watch the movie, what do I think of it? Read on for my opinion of Duplicity.
This movie goes back and forth in time to show the different scenes and development of the story. Sometimes it gets a little confusing as you don’t know if you’re watching a past or present scene! Things are also not explicitly told, so there’s quite a bit of guess-work.
But what I love about the entire movie are the twists and turns of events and things get pretty unpredictable. I simply love this kind of storylines. Many of the scenes will keep you guessing what’s really going on and create some kind of suspense in store for you.
But it doesn’t get overwhelming in the sense that you are not kept guessing for too long as all are cleverly revealed as the movie unfolds. Great story-telling at its best!
Duplicity also has a lot of funny moments which are cleverly injected into the dialogues between the characters. I especially like the chemistry between Julia Roberts and Clive Owen in this movie. They play a couple who secretly dates each other but are seen by others to be up against each other like arch rivals.
They’re such great agents and do their jobs so fantastically well that both have a problem trusting each other. They don’t even know when each may be lying to the other so we as the spectator will be kept guessing even more!
I’ve totally enjoyed this movie and I don’t mind watching it again. I’m glad to have gotten a copy of the DVD instead of watching it in the cinema because it means that I can watch and re-watch anytime I want!
If you are anything like me who enjoy CSI and spy-movies, this is a must-watch movie. Thoroughly entertaining for me and I hope it will be for you too. All I can say is that this movie has very clever plots. I don’t want to spoil anything for you, so just go and watch it yourself to see what I mean. Enjoy!
