Duck King Restaurant

One afternoon we wanted something different from our usual eating joints so we headed to Jaya One for a new experience. There are many eateries there, and we decided to try out the Duck King Restaurant. It was quite packed and there was a queue to be seated. Since we didn’t mind a table outside the restaurant and we had a sleeping child in a stroller, the waitress may have given us some privilege as we immediately got shown to a table.

Checking out the menu, I found that Duck King Restaurant has lots to offer, some are pretty normal stuff whilst others are rather luxurious dishes. I wanted to specifically try their duck meat since the name of the restaurant is Duck King. So we each ordered a plate of duck rice, and specified that we wanted drumsticks.

The portion was quite sizeable and the presentation of it impressed me at first. But a bite into the duck meat and I found that the meat was too tough although it was the drumstick. The sauce that came with it was a bit too salty too. The fragrant rice was alright, but all in all I didn’t think the meal was that great.

Each plate of the drumstick duck rice cost RM14.80. I think this is terribly overpriced! Maybe it’s because I didn’t enjoy the meal. Have you tried other food stuff at Duck King? Apparently others have tried other dishes and found that they are quite good.
