Lately I haven’t been doing much food or restaurant reviews. The truth is that I haven’t been bringing my camera with me when we go out, so there are no pictures to show even though the places I tried are pretty good. And as you know, a picture paints a thousand words, so I thought without the pictures, I wasn’t going to do much justice to them.
I’ve missed writing about food so I will write about a few that I tried in the last couple of weeks. But they are all related to pan mee because it’s one of my top favourite food
I can eat it day after day!

Last week I met a friend for lunch in town and she suggested that we go for chilli pan mee. The so-called original restaurant offering chilli pan mee is Restoran Kin Kin, off Jalan TAR in Kuala Lumpur. But that place is always packed not to mention pretty hot. So my friend suggested we go to the one a few doors away on the opposite site, which is called Restoran Super Kitchen.
Apparently this restaurant has a few outlets in KlangValley. I didn’t even know that. It was my first time trying their chilli pan mee then and I found that it’s just as good as the Kin Kin one. The additional plus point of Super Kitchen is that it is air conditioned! Well it’s not exactly very cooling since they operate with the doors opened, but it is much cooler and lots more comfortable on a hot afternoon
They too offer all sorts of different types of pan mee. I think the next time I’m there I will try the other types.
I also like the kedondong juice that they serve there. Very refreshing and appetizing. After finishing the entire bowl of pan mee and that wonderful juice, I was actually feeling just nice and not totally full yet!
I think it’s because I was really hungry then. But luckily I didn’t order anymore, because not long after that I felt really full and sleepy from that lunch!
One other place that I enjoy pan mee is the one at Ikano Power Center. I’ve forgotten what it’s called but it’s located on the lower ground floor where all the eateries are. It’s a small little outlet and if you are not paying attention, you may just miss it. There’re a few different types of pan mee available, from the normal soup and dry ones to sichuan style pan mee. Give them all a try, it’s rather interesting. But me, being a boring person, I normally just go for the conventional type which is just the plain soup one.
In Damansara Perdana, there’s also another pan mee shop called Face To Face. That one is ok, nothing I would say to be overly fantastic. It’s a place that can satisfy my pan mee cravings if I’m in the area and want to go for pan mee. But then again, I haven’t really tried the different types that they have there, only the normal soup on and I find it just so-so.
Do you know of some good pan mee places? I will definitely go try them if you share with me. I’m a pan mee freak!
If I keep eating pan mee like this, which is loaded with nothing but carbs, I’ll have to soon go for foods that burn fat!
But never mind, eat first, worry later…so tell me, which places have good pan mee?
