Christmas gift idea #4 – Outliers, The Story Of Success

by Penny on December 1, 2008

There’s been a suggested gift for her, for him and for the sweet-toothed. Here’s one for the book worm. This is a fairly new book to go onto the shelves, published only last month – Outliers, The Story Of Success. I haven’t read this book myself, but it came highly recommended from some friends. I read what this book is about and I am quite interested to read it. But first, I’m going to make sure I finish what I have started first!

Outliers, The Story Of Success talks about the background of successful people, looking at angles often not talked about, like their upbringing, culture, family background, when they were born, etc. Interesting stuff? It is to me!

It’s a non-fiction book but not the kind that will bore you to sleep. Sure, it makes a good bedtime reading but it may just activate your brains if you probe more into it! Personally, I know this book will make a wonderful Christmas gift for me as I love tucking into a good engaging book anytime of the day (when time permits!).

Whilst it is a serious topic, it actually sounds like fun to read it since it is not a heavy-duty book. This paperback costs RM69.90 and you can find it at most major bookstores. This time of year though, many bookstores are giving great discounts and I’ve seen this book on sale at many bookstores already. MPH Online itself is giving a 30% discount (which is great!!) so you only pay RM48.93 for it. Check it out here. Isn’t this a great bargain? Plus, you don’t need to get out there to buy it, this is an offer for online purchase. In my experience from buying on MPH Online, it only takes 2 days at most to have the books reach me. If your online purchase comes up to RM150, shipping is free of charge. Otherwise, it’s just RM5. I’m willing to pay the RM5 for a 30% discount plus all the savings from driving to the bookstore, possibly paying toll and hefty parking charges.

This book may be a good read for the year end and a new one to begin soon. It may inspire those who are reaching for the stars to chart their own success stories too. Happy reading!

Hie! Am bloghopping :)

My division recently organized a conference, and we gave the speakers copies of this book. They were pretty thrilled to receive them, and even started to flip through during break time!

Seeing their enthusiasm makes me want to go out and get my own copy ;)

Thanks for hopping here! You didn’t get a copy from your company? Then go get yourself one while the sales are on! :)
