Christmas gift idea #11 - fondue set

Hi there! If you're new here, and enjoy what you're reading, you can subscribe to my feed. Thanks for visiting!

Fondues have become rather popular in our country. This is not surprising since we love food and fondues are delightful and fun when shared with family and friends. Take a walk around the malls and you will find many different types of fondue sets available, not only in the household sections of department stores, but also at several kiosks and small shops.

Over here, most of us treat fondue as a dessert, usually prefering to have a luxurious chocolate fondue with strawberries and marshmallows. In Europe, fondues can be a full meal in itself when you go for a sinful but delicious cheese fondue. I personally love cheese fondues so I’d rather this than a chocolate one with fruits.

This Christmas, why not give someone a fondue set. It’s a great way to encourage more home parties! Instead of having a big party where the host will need to spend some money providing food and beverages, a fondue party can be an intimate and small party amongst friends where they just sit around each other, enjoying a great dessert at their leisure.

A fondue set is not that expensive nowadays. I spotted some at malls that were selling between RM10 to RM50. Of course a RM10 fondue set isn’t going to be enough for a party of 5 and above, but it still makes a great dessert for two. Hey, it’s quite a romantic date to stare each other in the eye and enjoy rich melted chocolate with strawberries (both chocs and strawberries happen to be aphrodisiacs!). And a fondue set pictured below is just perfect for a madly in love couple!

Anyway, since the new year is the next thing to celebrate after Christmas, I’m sure the fondue set will come in useful to many people who are hosting a new year celebrating!
