Did you buy any Michael Jackson CD since his death?

by Penny on July 16, 2009

I have to admit that I’m not the biggest Michael Jackson fan. I’ve never owned any Michael Jackson music CDs or even DVDs featuring his MTVs and concerts. I just listened to his songs on the radio or anywhere else that play his music. I have a large collection of MP3s in my laptop and I have a few of his songs like Heal The World and You Are Not Alone. That’s about all that I have on any Michael Jackson merchandise.

Since his death, almost every record shop have been playing his MTVs, songs and concerts on their screens. I’ve noticed that Speedy stores do this a lot and the few times that I passed by some of these Speedy outlets, there will be quite a substantial group of people standing there to watch the Michael Jackson concert or MTV being played.

I even saw some staff at a particular outlet bringing out boxes of Michael Jackson CDs, VCDs and DVDs and placing them on the shelves. It seems sale of his music are now going like hot cakes. I believe so too. Just last night I passed by another Speedy outlet and this time I stopped a while longer and watched the concert he held in 1992 in Bucharest. We ended up buying the Michael Jackson Live In Bucharest: The Dangerous Tour DVD as a keepsake.

Read on below on how great this concert was and why this is a recommended buy to cherish and honour the memory of Michael Jackson.

I have to confess it’s actually my first time watching his performance on stage and I was truly impressed with his great talent not only in his vocals, but also his dance moves. Of course, I’ve always known he’s famous for his dances and that moon-walker thing, but last night was the first time that I truly admired him for all his talents. He was such a great performer.

I have no regrets buying that DVD. It’s currently selling for only RM39.90 at Speedy and according to the store assistant, this Live In Bucharest Concert was his best concert ever. I see such high energy and dedication to his performance in his every move. He was really playing the part of the entertainer without holding back anything.

Adoring fans were almost hysterical throughout his performance on stage, and it was so crowded that many fans were also collapsing or fainting and had to be carried out. There wasn’t even enough space for them to walk out of the crowd, they had to be carried and passed around to the end of the standing crowd where concert crew helped to get them out of that crowd to get air. Some were put on stretchers and whisked away.

Can you imagine that kind of stardom that Michael Jackson commands? It was definitely very “wowing” for me. As I watched, I also felt such a great sense of loss for such a talent. I had tears in my eyes many times while watching that concert. I’m sure the crowd who were there to witness it live that time would never forget the magic and euphoria they felt that night. I only watched it on DVD and I can already feel such strong emotions from it. What more catching the King of Pop live!

If you would like to have a great keepsake of Michael Jackson, I highly recommend this Live In Bucharest: The Dangerous Tour concert DVD. It’s a very affordable price to pay to keep the memory of a legend in our homes and hearts.

Yes, the dances were incredible. No one else will ever dance like Michael Jackson did. I’m glad to have a copy of his concert so that I can forever watch his amazing moves…

I am almost like you. In the past I used to hear his music when somebody listen it from radio or from tv… I knew his moonwalk. After he died, a friend of mine gave me a vcd. The Bucharest Concert. And what happened ? I watched it everyday for a month and everytime I watched it I cried like a child. And I exactly understood that Michael Jackson was the only singer on earth who had no interest in making money but giving pleasure and joy to his fans. His smile is not fake. He is in struggle to give a perfect show. He both sang and danced but he was still standing without faint.

I was not a Michael fan. But Now I am. I wish we could have understood him before he died. Because he respected us. He did not go on stage with garbage songs and moves. Rest In Peace Michael.
