Would you buy a gym membership or equipment?

by Penny on March 27, 2010

I was just wondering which is a better investment – to subscribe in a gym membership or to buy your own commercial fitness equipment and work out at home? A lot of people prefer going to the gym because the upfront is a lot less but over the time that someone goes to the gym for a long term period, it may actually work out to be more expensive than buying the gym equipment itself.

What do you think? Which option would you choose if you were serious in working out over a long term period? I’m just asking because a friend asked for my opinion but I really can’t make up my mind too since I’m not really a gym go-er and don’t have the passion to work out. Better to get opinions from those who are in it and have wiser advise to share :)

The start of a new year is a perfect time to begin an exercise routine. Exercise is for everyone, including those with physical disabilities and limitations. Exercise can help you maintain your weight, avoid health problems such as heart and lung disease, relieve stress, feel better and look better.
