I went to the Coach boutique seeking help. The girl told me that she wasn’t certain if their fabric cleaner could remove the stain. She didn’t think the stain would come off. In any case, their fabric cleaner was out of stock and I’ll have to wait till the end of the month if I’m lucky.
I asked around my friends on what I should do and one of them suggested I send it to Press To and see if they can help. Press To is a quality dry cleaning franchise that’s quite newly established in the country. There are a few branches in town and I went to the one in Bangsar.
When I walked in, someone attended to me right away. I showed my stained purse and asked if he could do anything to help. He studied it for a while and then disappeared to the back for a moment. He came back with some cotton wools in his hand and proceeded to gently dab on the stain. To my delight, the stain was coming off, bit by bit!
While he slowly removed the stain, he explained that it can’t be 100% removed because the chemical he was using could cause the fabric colour to come off too. He did the best he could to make the stain less visible and I was happy enough with the end result. Can’t ask for too much when he already told me the risk of having the purse discoloured.
I was very grateful for his help and care in making sure that the purse is not ruined. When all was done (which was just a matter of minutes), I asked how much I owed for the service. He just smiled and said “It’s free”. I was really delighted with the service!
I took a leaflet on the counter and checked their dry cleaning rates. It’s actually very reasonable. In addition, if you have a CIMB credit card or a Direct Access MasterCard, you get a 10% discount. Press To also has a loyalty program where you earn free dry cleaning for every X number of pieces you bring in.
The next time you’re bringing your clothes for a dry clean, do check them out. In the long run, you could be saving quite a bit if you’re a frequent dry cleaning person.
