An accidental Paddington Bear stamp collector

Hi there! If you're new here, and enjoy what you're reading, you can subscribe to my feed. Thanks for visiting!

When Guardian launched the start of the Paddington Bear stamp collection, I remember glancing through the leaflet and decided I’m not Paddington Bear crazy, so I didn’t bother to participate. How this works is this:

For every purchase of RM25, you are entitled to collect 1 Paddington Bear stamp. At a minimum of 20 stamps, you can redeem a Paddington Bear for free!

Yesterday I was at Guardian because they ran a sale on their Huggies Dry diapers. I automatically received some Paddington Bear stamps along with my purchases and the cashier helped me stick those stamps onto a little card. I felt like a school girl once again, getting a sticker for good behaviour or good grades!

Almost instantly, I got quite hooked to the idea of redeeming a Paddington Bear for free for my little boy (I swear it’s for my little boy and not me!). You see, he loves soft toys. So if I keep purchasing my regular stuff from Guardian from now until February 2009, I might just maket he minimum 20 stamps to redeem the smallest size Paddington. Not a bad idea at all!

The Paddington Bear is quite a lovable little plush toy, isn’t it?
