Sandisk came up with a new thumbdrive called the SanDisk Cruzer® Titanium Plus 4GB USB Flash Drive. The unique feature of this thumbdrive is that whenever you save your data into it, it automatically creates a back-up of your data into an online storage. This only happens if you are connected to the internet during the time you are saving your data.
This also means that you not only get to access your saved data from the thumbdrive, you get access to them online too.
However, nothing good comes for free. The free auto back-up only lasts you for six months. If you want to continue this service, you need to pay about US$30 a year. Otherwise, after six months, your online stored data will be removed.
I’m not sure if I’m interested in this. I always like value-added services but to have to pay for online storage when I can easily get it for free, it’s not quite the service I’m willing to pay for. No doubt the back-up happens automatically once you put data into the thumbdrive, it’s not too much work to manually back-up my files either.
