MBG Fruits Shop has been mushrooming in Klang Valley, with 15 outlets now. MBG stands for money back guarantee, so yes, the company is essentially saying that they will refund or exchange the fruits that you are not happy with. That is what MBG Fruits Shop is about.
MBG Fruits Shop outlet at Mid Valley.
According to MBG Fruits Shop, they sell nothing but fresh fruits. Besides a variety of fresh local and imported fruits, they also sell chilled cut fruits and fruit juices. I’ve seen a few of these outlets in several malls, namely in Avenue K, Mid Valley Megamall and Subang Parade. I’ve bought cut fruits from them once, and I had no complaints. And then today, we bought some apples, plums and guavas and we are full of complaints!
MBG Fruits Shop states it upfront that customers’ satisfaction is their priority and they refund or exchange unsatisfactory purchases with no questions asked. With this, I expected good quality fruits from them.
But the reality is that none of the fruits we bought were any good. The Washington apples were bright red and looked inviting. A bite into it and we here hugely disappointed that it was all soft and had that powdery texture. The seedless guavas, well we had to throw the first one we cut up because it was very hard and dry. The second one that we cut is soft and not crunchy at all. The plums, well, the skin was sour and the flesh itself was tasteless. I certainly didn’t enjoy any of the fruits we bought.
We are seriously thinking of returning them all and getting our refund. I’m not even thinking about doing an exchange for its other fruits because we’ve had a bad experience with their 3 different types of fruits. Basically, they have just lost our confidence in their products.
Price wise, it’s not that expensive. Comparable to market rate and for some fruits, I thought they pretty much match prices of fruits sold at some pasar malam too. But you know, I’ve enjoyed some of the fruits purchased from pasar malam a lot more than this money back guarantee fruit shop!

It is not wise enough to have this kind of business, dont you think so??? Not for fruit and vegetable. I think if they sell only real fresh fruits and vege, they dont have to guarantee in this way at all.
Yes, it’s definitely not very wise to run this kind of guarantee on produce! No next time for me at these chains. I’ll go back to the good old pasar malam stalls!

My husband and I shop for fruits at your Kiosk in Jaya 33 and the reason we have become regulars is because of your staff. They are a really pleasant bunch of young people doing a good job. Always smiling and eager to assist in choosing the “best” for you.
Please pass this compliment on to them and let them know they are appreciated.
The fruits are not bad either!
All the best – I have yet to test your Money Back Guarantee!!
hi would like to find out whether MBG is just a fruit stall or does it provide some sort of dine in? let say i bought a few fruits, can the staff cut it on the spot and is there a place to sit in and eat?
thanks heaps.
The outlets I’ve seen thus far don’t seem to have a sit-down area for dine in. Pretty much just a fruit shop.
hi Penny, u know any fruit shop or salad shop around KL area that has sit-down for dine in? thanks….
Hi Ben, I really have not come across any fruit shop that offers a dine-in experience. There are a few fruit shop outlets similar to MBG like Fruit Story but that one also does not offer any dine-in. The only places I’ve sat down to enjoy fresh fruits are actually some food court or coffee shops that have fruit stalls that can cut up the fresh fruits and serve. But I guess that’s not what you’re looking for, huh?
hi Penny, that’s what i’m looking for….fruit stalls that can cut up the fresh fruits and serve…. i dun care where it is food court or coffee shops haha….just want to eat them lol….
can share with me the location? and prices perhaps?
thanks a lot.
Ben, I know of a coffee shop in Sea Park, PJ area where there’s a fruit stall alongside the other food stalls that can serve you cut fruits. I don’t remember the name, but it’s a corner coffee shop opposite KFC. You can also go to Ampang Park’s food court if you are in the area…Hope that helps. Price wise, they’re definitely not expensive because they’re not branded or franchise shops. Just stalls.
